Bearings In Mind?

Gamet’s ultra precision QK tapered roller bearings have been incorporated in the workhead of the Jones and Shipman Format 15 range of grinding machines.

The bearings were chosen because the design is simple yet precise and significantly reduces assembly time.

Grease is used to lubricate the bearing assembly therefore eliminating the need to include expensive oil feed equipment in the CNC cylindrical grinding machine.

According to Tony tankard, Manufacturing Director of Gamet Bearings, incorporating the QK range in the Format 15 makes the grinding machine probably one the best on the market, so much so that Gamet is buying one.

Gamet is constantly developing it’s range of tapered roller bearings to meet the changing needs of machine tool manufacturers who form the bulk of the company’s customers.

Recently a range of greased super precision high speed bearings was launched. Speeds 40% greater than traditional TRB ratings are obtained from the newly designed range when used with Optimol HS grease. Despite the high operating speeds, working temperatures don’t exceed 10 degrees above ambient.

Gamet is one of the few remaining specialist precision bearing engineers in the UK willing to work with machine tool manufacturers on product development projects.
